Engine Control Unit (ECU) is a computer, developed to be in full control of the engine. It monitors the rotation speed, hundreds of other parameters, controls the fuel injection and conducts an enormous number of other operations to keep the engine running efficiently and smoothly. ECU can detect mechanical problems in powerplant.
